Sanctuary Art and Music Studio

Marc and Paula Intravaia have been integral in nurturing the Carmel Valley-

Del Mar community arts scene for more than a decade.

Paula, a credentialed teacher with a Fine Arts degree from SDSU and certificate of achievement from the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero Institute, is a kindergarten teacher & art specialist for the Del Mar Union School District. Her background includes summer workshops, private lessons, and professional illustrations.

Marc “Twang” Intravaia, a professional musician since 1973, is a founding member and manager of the Eve Selis Band (established in 1991), and Carmel Valley guitar teacher for a decade. His clientele ranges from beginners to professional musicians of all ages. Marc has won numerous San Diego Music Awards with bandmate Eve Selis and has performed with Kenny Loggins, Kim Carnes, America, Suzy Bogguss, BJ. Thomas, and many others.

Our Mission

We believe that artistic growth is best facilitated by experienced mentors in an inspiring environment, and that the process is just as important as the product.

Additionally, Paula's teaching style is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach in which student curiosity drives the curriculum and individual discovery is encouraged.

At S.A.M.S. we understand that things come up in life and so missed lessons are simply made up at a later date.
